HHD8 6×6 (GVW 50T) * Heavy Duty * Fully Off-road

Power Train

Cursor Engine

The Iveco Cursor 8- 10- and 13 litre overhead camshaft engines with electronically controlled injectors push out from 270-420 kW and from 1700-2200 Nm of torque, all between 1000 and 1440 r/min.

As a result of high levels of thermal output, the engines have excellent fuel consumption even under the most severe operating conditions

Chassis

The extra-strong chassis consists of two tough, flat parallel side members with a C-section jointed by nailed cross members. Made from special steel imported from Sweden, the chassis frame is considerably thicker and stronger than any in this sector and contributes to exceptional durability of the HD8 range.

Suspension

Parabolic leaf springs on both the front and rear axles enable greater comfort and a quiet ride. Semi-elliptic springs are available as an option for trucks loaded with equipment that has a high centre of gravity.

Brakes

The braking system uses new drum brakes front and rear with Duo Duplex (two brake chambers) self-adjusting wedge-type brakes, as well as automatic slack adjusters for each wheel to produce better-balanced braking and more uniform wear of gaskets.

Braking correction is ensured by an electronic brake limitation and the ABS system which electronically manages wheel by wheel, moment by moment, the ideal braking force without any risk of locking, irrespective of the type of load on the vehicle.
